If you are reading this then you are more than likely aware of the reasons behind the need for this blog and if you voted for me, then you already know my story, but for those who maybe don't know here is a little background. I have never really been thin - in all my life...healthy yes, thin not so much. In my adult life I have become less and less active - something I never thought I would do - and have seen my body grow and grow and grow. Diabetes runs extremely close to me in my family tree - I watched as the pills and the shots consumed my sweet grandmother and I am watching my amazing mother live with it in her day to day life. To live with someone with the disease, is to truly understand the dimensions and toll this life can have on your body. From the constant blood sugar monitoring, to the worries of heart disease, eye sight deterioration, limb amputation, and kidney disease it is something that I truly hope I don't have to live with. I know it would break my grandmother's heart seeing my mom's struggles and I know my mom prays that neither of her girls have to go through it to.
So here is where my journey began, about two weeks ago....a quest to become not just become the Biggest Mooser but a quest to change the way I life, to understand the effects food and exercise has on my body and to fully embrace this new lifestyle.
This blog will for certain be about my five (soon to be six) days a week workouts with Ben, my daily meals and food ideas, nutrition tips I learn along the way, but it is my goal that thru this amazing experience that I have been given, to maybe inspire a few people along the way!
